Overview

Allyson Kasetta assists residential, commercial and industrial developers in the full range of land use, development, redevelopment and permitting matters. In particular, she has extensive experience representing developers in connection with municipal, county and state approvals, including site plan approvals, subdivision approvals, variances and permits. With direct experience representing municipal planning and zoning boards, Allyson has a unique perspective on the interactions between developers and the approving authorities, as well as a familiarity with the practices and procedures of many different municipalities.

Allyson also has a thorough knowledge of redevelopment law. She frequently navigates projects through the entire redevelopment process, from designation as an area in need of redevelopment to adopting a redevelopment plan. She also negotiates redeveloper, financial and other associated agreements.

Allyson’s experience in land use development and redevelopment matters includes obtaining approvals for major projects in Bergen County, where she began her career. She has handled prerogative writ litigation involving land use approvals and challenges to other governmental actions. Other noteworthy development projects on which Allyson has advised are a distribution facility in Jersey City for a well-known international courier and a landmark office building in Morristown.

As a litigator, Allyson challenges and defends local land use board decisions in the Superior Court of New Jersey. She has successfully litigated actions arising from land use decisions in municipalities throughout northern New Jersey on behalf of both developers and municipal land use boards.
