On April 11, 2025, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem reminded foreign nationals of the deadline to register under the Alien Registration Act. It should be noted that the registration requirement does NOT apply to individuals who are already registered. We have attached a helpful client flyer explaining the registration requirement, including whom has already registered.
Employers should forward this information to their noncitizen employees. While the attached flyer relies heavily on language quoted directly from the USCIS website, it is important to note that immigration attorneys are monitoring the situation daily, and are awaiting any guidance that the government may provide interpreting the registration requirement (especially as to exactly how it applies to minors not previously fingerprinted).
