Connell Foley is please to announce that Bill Castner, Chair of Connell Foley's Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Group, was recently honored at the Rutgers Law School 2022 Distinguished Alumni Awards Celebration (DAAC) on October 27, 2022, in Camden, NJ.

Bill was among two other Rutgers Law alumni recognized by the law school for their outstanding professional accomplishments. Upon receipt of the Arthur E. Armitage, Sr. Distinguished Alumni Award, Bill was introduced by New Jersey Attorney General, The Honorable Matthew Platkin. The Arthur E. Armitage, Sr. Distinguished Alumni Award was established in 1983 in memory of Armitage, a founder of the South Jersey Law School, which later became Rutgers Law School’s Camden Campus. The award honors graduates who have distinguished themselves since graduating from law school.

Bill has an impressive career that spans the private and public sectors. He previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Corporate & Regulatory Affairs at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and has an in-depth understanding and view of the healthcare and insurance industries.

Bill was also previously appointed general counsel to the New Jersey General Assembly, where he served as the chief legal adviser. He was later promoted to executive director of the New Jersey General Assembly Majority Office -- youngest director in that office's history.
