Connell Foley is pleased to announce that partner W. Nevins McCann was named to New Jersey Governor-Elect Phil Murphy’s Transition2018 team. This group of senior level industry and policy professionals will be tasked with analyzing issues and making recommendations to the Governor-Elect on a host of state issues as the new administration prepares to take office in January 2018.

Nevins, who co-chairs Connell Foley’s Real Estate and Land Use Group and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, will serve as a member of the Transition Counsel Committee. In addition to his extensive experience in real estate, development and land use, he is intimately familiar with the process and requirements of helping guide a governor-elect through the transition process. In 2010, Nevins was appointed to Governor Christie’s transition team subcommittee on transportation, and assisted the administration with issues facing the state Department of Transportation and New Jersey Transit.

In a prepared statement, Governor-Elect Murphy stated “New Jersey needs an administration ready to hit the ground running in January, and through the work of the transition committees my administration will not take office blind to the challenges and opportunities before us. I am grateful to everyone who accepted the call to serve our transition. From analyzing and prescribing policy to taking a fresh look at the basic organization of government, these committees have a lot of work to do. I am confident they will put my administration in a position to begin delivering results for the people of New Jersey from day one.”

A graduate of Georgetown University, Nevins received a joint JD/MBA from Villanova University School of Business and Law. He is chairman of the board of the Jersey City Medical Center Foundation, and serves on the board of RWJBarnabas Health Jersey City Medical Center and the Liberty Science Center.
