Connell Foley attorneys Michael Creegan and Stephen Turano led a team of nine fellow Connell Foley attorneys and their families as they volunteered at Mary’s Place in Jersey City through the Rebuilding Together program.

Rebuilding Together is the leading organization that, in partnership with the community, rehabilitates the homes of low-income, elderly or disabled persons or families with children, at no cost to them, so that they may live in warmth, safety and independence.  In Jersey City, over 320 homes and nonprofit facilities have been rehabilitated since 1991.

Connell Foley staff and attorneys as well as their friends and family have participated in Rebuilding Together Jersey City for the past 15 years. This year, as noted, the Connell Foley team helped out at Mary’s Place, a former convent in the Greenville section of Jersey City that was recently converted into a boarding home for single women in transition. Connell Foley volunteers assisted with painting, clean-up and other tasks that will help get the shelter up and ready for full occupancy. Mary’s Place is the second such nonprofit boarding home opened by Matt Laracy, who also runs the Magnificat Home in Jersey City.

Volunteers this year included attorneys Michael Creegan, Stephen Turano, Marc Haefner, Alexis Lazzara, Edmund Caulfield, Sydney Darling, Thomas Forrester, Thomas Wester, Evan Haggerty, Christopher Borchert, Sophia Cahill and Patrick Coughlin.
