Molly Hurley Kellett, a commercial litigation partner at Connell Foley, was quoted in the Law360 article “NJ Atty Can’t Challenge Tax Abatements, Appeals Court Says” (May 30, 2019), which examined a recent decision by a state appeals court that found a New Jersey attorney lacked standing to challenge tax abatements awarded by the city of Newark to two companies because the attorney did not live or pay property taxes in Newark. Molly, who represented the companies receiving the tax abatements, is quoted as saying the decision “upholds the longstanding rule in this state that only persons with an actual interest in a municipality’s decision have legal standing to challenge it.”
